Choosing a domain name is a great first business decison for you to make. When possible try to apply these rules ( don't be too strict, but adhering to them is wise in the long run)
- Make the name close to keywords that apply to your business, industry or product: thecameracure.com, pinellaspropertyonline.com .
- Make the name easy to say. If you have to spell and re-spell a domain name over the phone, it can be uncomfortable at times. Something easy like bobs-bikes.com is easy to say and spell.
- Avoid lots of prefixes like hot, best, and easy. It looks and feels like you are just a bit late to the game when you get a domain like: besthotcomputers.com
- Stick to .com domain names. The .org , .net , and .us have their place, but are often a last resort domain name in case someone has taken your businesses actual name already.
- If one domain doesn't fit all your offerings, consider getting two. It is only $10/ year for a domain name so if your business might offer two completely different proucts or services, consider two domains as a logical solution before distoring your brand or image too much.
